The Story

Good morning, blog friends! It's been a while. What have you all been up to?

I've been drenched in the blood, sweat, and tears associated with the end of school and lacked time for any blogging activities. To be fair, it's mostly been a lack of photo opportunities- the reality is, sometimes I just choose to look hella cozy and get stuff done. No time for any cute outfits.

Traditionally, the week before finals has always been my downfall. It's the week of sweats and ratty tops and sporadic showers, only to lead into a seemingly put together finals week. You know, the old 'fake it till you make it' spiel.

Alas, Thanksgiving break was a small but welcomed treat, and between the turkey food baby and cold weather, I was able to get this look in. I spent my Thanksgiving in Santa Fe, mostly feasting and relaxing. While wearing this look, we strolled around Canyon Road and visited a surrealist art gallery. I brought a very underwhelming amount of garments for the occasion, but it was nice to reappropriate my summer crop top for the occasion- also a perfect day to wear my friend's old clothes!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

The Story
Over the summer, I've accumulated an entire collection of deep blues, with this interestingly cut T-shirt as one of the main pieces. Fast forward to now and this lovely shirt relocated to my mother's closet (she was enthusiastic, so I gave in), but the photos of this comfy boyfriend jeans pairing remain.
To be honest, I struggled with posting these. Blogging, particularly of the personal style variety, tends to show people as their best selves, from their best angles, under their best lighting. For me, these photos are none of the above.
Half the time I have to remind myself that I'm not trying to fit into this mold. I blog because I love to write, photograph, document, and inspire. I have to remind myself that my intention is to be real and approachable, not airbrushed and unrealistic.
To those that are giving up hope, I assure you that quirkiness is alive and well and I will continue to check myself and make sure I have a healthy dose of it. As should you. After all, the world would be a boring place if we had perfect hair every single day, right?

Hello there, party people!

Today's look is one of those 'I just threw this on me in 5 minutes and made my hair poufy' looks that I've been loving (out of necessity) lately. You know how boys have this urgency when they decide to go somewhere ASAP and you're expected to be ready in the next few minutes? Well, living with two of them, I'm having to adapt slowly but surely.

This is attempt number 1, featuring the most perfect ripped skinnies I own. These, my friends, are the Rockstar skinnies from Old Navy. Not sure if I've properly introduced them to everybody, but for anyone wanting a good skinny on a budget, I've got you covered.

Until we meet again, internet. Thank you so much for stopping by!

So, it took me a while to warm up to my running shoes as a style staple, but here I am, I suppose. I wore this the other day when figuring out the bus route for my new summer job in LA- initially went with the sneakers for comfort reasons, but they ended up looking pretty snazzy so I suppose a quick snap was in order.

This is a bit of a baby blog post due to the lack of photos, but when I found this one on my camera, it just seemed like the perfect time to share!

If I had a dollar for every time I've purchased amazing shoes from Plato's Closet, I'd probably be able to purchase even more amazing shoes. I've probably went on a mini Plato's Closet rant on different occasions, but I need to reiterate: 'tis the place to shop at.
Another awesome place to shop at? Old Navy. Especially for jeans. Let's just take a moment to love on the perfect boyfriend jeans, that basically feel like PJ's but look put together enough that you wouldn't get judged for wearing them to Walmart, or anywhere else for that matter. Along with the boyfriends, the Rockstar skinny jeans are worth looking into- my favorite affordable jeans ever!

And how about we go 3 for 3 tonight and I tell you guys about one last awesome place to shop at? Okay? Okay. Sole Society it is! This bag was my first purchase with them, but I will definitely be returning to the website- quality product and quality service are my type of deal!
Thank you so much for stopping by!

Outfit: Denim Jacket + Red Skinnies.

Hello, friends! Welcome to part 2 of Ada tries to do winter weather and ends up being severely under-dressed for the occasion. I'm not sure in what world I found a denim jacket to be appropriate for the under 55 Farenheit weather, but at least it looked cool with the red jeans, amIrite?

I got this beauty on one of my $5 big brown bag thrifting adventures, which probably means its individual cost came to about 50 cents or less. I'm so happy to give it some screen time finally!

Ever since college started, I've gotten stuck in this sweatshirt/sweatpants/comfy crap rut (Especially mid-semester, when everything gets really busy. That is a sight to avoid!), but lately I've been making a conscious decision to show more of my purchases some love. And of course, there's the New Year's Resolution: less purchases, more cost-per-wear!

Lastly: this backpack is from Walmart, of all places. My mind is blown.

Double lastly: can we just take a moment to appreciate the beautiful location, though?!? I wore this out on winter break in Boerne, and, although the place was a bit seasonally confused (all of the fall colors in late December!), it was nothing short of gorgeous!

Thank you for stopping by!

Hello, everyone! Normally I'd be a woman of many words, but I'm having too much fun cuddling and exploring with my boyfriend, who's visiting for the week! We explored a bit of downtown Boerne, TX last night, which is where these photos were taken, Such a cute little small town!

As for the outfit, I guess you could consider this to be a part of the 'thrifted' series. I've been obsessively relying on my mall clothes lately, in an effort to better fit into the college environment, I suppose. Coming home has forced me to go back to my garage sale and thrift shop roots, and I've been enjoying it quite immensely.
