Once upon a time, the owner of this here blog was done with all her final exams and relaxed at home for a week after a pretty stressful semester. Then, she headed to Los Angeles for the summer and decided it was time to blog full-force again! 

Here we have the first product of this decision- admittedly a bit below the requirements for the night's temperature. The day had been sunny and beautiful, so how could I even imagine that anything beyond a light jacket would be necessary? But here and behold, come evening, it was freezing {insert body anatomy}. Well played, LA, well played.

These sandals have been on replay lately- one of my most recent purchases from Ross. Not a huge fan of the store these days, but their shoe game has been really on point lately. I was in need of new summer footwear and these go with most outfits I own.

Good evening, everybody! Tonight I'm going to be sharing my Valentine's Day outfit. I'm beyond excited about this post for multiple reasons. First off, I suppose we'll talk fashion. I was thrifting over in San Antonio when I went to visit my parents for winter break, and I came across this beautiful red nightgown (I'm pretty sure this is a nightgown, yes). 

The moment I laid eyes on that sucker, I knew it would be my Valentine's Day dress. So I go to the register, and they give it to me for 50 cents. Definitely one of my proudest thrifting moments. Boyfriend complaint: it's kind of shapeless. It was a valid concern on his part, I suppose, but sometimes you gotta just switch it up.

I'm a huge fan of the teddy and body chain combination. Lingerie is one of those things that I love to indulge in although it is so not worth it for someone like myself, who's always trying to be budget-friendly. Getting to wear it as a visual part of my outfit helps justify the purchase a bit more. Then there's the body chain which will forever be a staple in my closet.

Beyond the fashion, I'd just like to take a quick moment and thank my amazing boyfriend for the photographs. I don't know if it comes off as obvious on-screen, but these photos are taken with a film camera. So a huge shoutout is in order to this lovely human being that took the time to rent out a fancy camera, transport it by plane and car, take the pictures, and get them developed, scanned and sent over.

It warms my heart how supportive he always is about this blog, and how he always goes above and beyond to help me turn visions into realities. Thank you so much, Aidan! First off, I'd like to give a super big/huge/massive thank you to my classmate/forever group member/personality soulmate Fernanda for being a dear and taking these lovely photographs on a lovely post-class Tuesday. You da best, gurl! 

Secondly, this is an outfit I'd like to call "I can't believe I haven't thrown this out yet!" I've had this hoodie since a very early point in my high school career- maybe freshman or sophomore year. Remember when the store Rave existed? Yeah, it's been that long. 

Also a point of reference: it was back when a sale was actually a sale. This hoodie was $5. That's less than a mediocre salad on campus.

And check out those booties! Whoever keeps talking the talk about quality shoes hasn't hit the $25 jackpot with Charlotte Russe yet. I've had these since junior/senior year in high school. I'm a junior/senior (actually) in college now, so they've been around for a while. 

Last outfit detail I'm going to bore you with is this body chain. The body chain is one of those trends that I've kind of just adapted into my day to day life and will be sporting even when it stops being popular (same way I feel about ombre hair). 

This one in particular rocks my socks off. Except... bought it at Icing for $12, then went to Rue 21 a few weeks later and the exact same one was on the $2 clearance rack. I'm surprised my facepalm didn't leave a mark, honestly. 

One last (unrelated) thing. Deciding to post these pictures in their full acneic (probs not a word) glory was a bit of a dilemma. My face is doing significantly better these days, but please just take a moment to appreciate my resisting Photoshop strength.

Hi, everyone! Today I'm sharing one of my winter break outfits. I wore this for a stroll downtown with my little brother and boyfriend- a comfy little number for wandering around different stores. The earrings are one of my favorite finds- from the cheap jewelry store in Las Cruces (Eve's). I got them for a dollar and they're just precious! 

Also worth noting are the leggings, which I've been wearing an obscene amount lately (mostly because nothing else fits me after the Christmas/New Year's Eve feast). Not to worry though, now that I'm back at school I'm definitely working on that.

Hello, everyone! Normally I'd be a woman of many words, but I'm having too much fun cuddling and exploring with my boyfriend, who's visiting for the week! We explored a bit of downtown Boerne, TX last night, which is where these photos were taken, Such a cute little small town!

As for the outfit, I guess you could consider this to be a part of the 'thrifted' series. I've been obsessively relying on my mall clothes lately, in an effort to better fit into the college environment, I suppose. Coming home has forced me to go back to my garage sale and thrift shop roots, and I've been enjoying it quite immensely.

Hi, everybody!

So, this outfit almost didn't happen, and I would've been so sad. Don't get me wrong, the outfit itself happened, but the pictures were a no-go to begin with. That's probably obvious from the lack of detail shots, huh? We got home from running that day's errands pretty late, and I had a total of 5 minutes or so to take photos because OneRepublic were streaming their concert on Yahoo and there was no way I was going to miss that.

My little brother did as well as he could've given the almost-sunset situation (and the frustrated sister wanting him to hurry up so she could go fangirl situation). All in all, I'm just glad I got to share it with you guys- it's one of my recent favorites, and takes me back to my super girly high school days. Nothing wrong with a little blast from the past!

I've been spending a lot of time in yoga class lately, and every time I work on my breath, I'm supposed to visualize the air filling up my lungs and thinking of a mantra to repeat in my head. For me, that mantra is "It's almost over." It feels so ironic and counterproductive to be trying to slow down my thoughts and be mindful and in the present while constantly repeating something that sounds so rushed and impatient. This semester has just been dragging on and on, and the sophomoreitis I'm suffering from is so intense that I just need a lot of medication (and by medication I mean a trip to Los Angeles to see a cute boyfriend and eat macaroons- oh wait, that's ACTUALLY HAPPENING soon!). 

This month, my outfits have been filled with as much color, or shine, or combination of both as possible. Faking it till I make it has never felt more difficult, but I'm so grateful for the power of clothes! It's all about perspective. Yes, that particular day may have been gray, but all it needed was a bit of sparkle. Don't give up quite yet, overworked college students. We're all in this together!
