Style: February/March Haul.

Hello, everyone!

It's been a while, but I finally caught my breath and was able to put together a new post. School's reaching its peak for the semester, so doing things outside of that and work has been a bit difficult. While I haven't been able to shoot any outfit posts lately, I wanted to share with you guys my latest haul (everything was purchased in a 2-month span).

Hauls are somewhat of a mixed feeling initiator, as some find them inspiring and others find them annoying. I'm in between- mostly depending on the frequency of them.

For the most part, I've been trying to steer clear of the mall lately, so Sole Society, Sosie and Tobi are three of my newest discoveries which I highly recommend. Also, can't miss an opportunity to bring up my little Plato's Closet plug! I mean, a brand new J.Crew skirt (with the tags on) for under $15. Amazing stuff, I tell 'ya!

I figured an El Paso day date with my favorite guy would be the prime time for that.  This crop top is one of my prized possessions- I saw it in Seventeen magazine (before I finally took the leap and cancelled my subscription- cause really, I'm way too old to be reading about teenage issues). Anyway, I went to the store, magazine in hand, and was beyond ecstatic to find that they didn't only have the top, but they had it in my favorite pile (hint: the one that starts with S and ends with E).  This outfit has me reminiscing about the time I would spend hours stalking everything Annasophia Robb wore on The Carrie Diaries. Is anyone else bitter that show got cancelled? Over a year later and I still can't get over it. I guess all that's left to do is draw inspiration from the past.  That's all I have for tonight, guys! Style: Winter Date Lookbook.

Good evening, everyone! A super quick post for you guys tonight, as there is a killer migraine running through Adaopolis (so bad that my jokes are extra awful tonight). 
I've had this footage laying around since winter break and finally decided it was its time to shine. I actually did wear every outfit featured, so I guess this is half date lookbook/ half delayed outfit of the week post. Either way, I had loads of fun making it.

Style: Oscars Favorites.

Merry post-Oscars Monday, everyone!

Although it doesn't seem that a lot of people were digging Neil Patrick Harris' presentation style, one has to appreciate the white skivvies, right? This year's ceremony brought on a lot of feels, as award recipients tackled important issues such as equal pay, ALS, Alzheimer's, suicide prevention, and immigration, among others.  By far the most touching moment was John Legend and Common's performance (and win) for the song Glory. I don't blame the people attending for being drenched in tears. Heck, I was comfortably sitting on my couch and bawling my eyes out during the speech. It's people like these that make the less socially sensitive folks of the entertainment industry (S.P., anyone?) a bit more bearable.

In terms of style, there were so many beautiful people that killed it on the red carpet. I wish I had a better understanding of men's fashion (or, I guess, a keener eye for tuxes) so I could include some lovely male eye candy in my roundup, but for now, I'm just going to give some shoutouts to the ladies that made me green with dress envy. (Also, Eddie Redmayne. Because Eddie Redmayne is the absolute cutest). Here were my favorites from the night:

As usual, I was attracted to the (mostly) deep hues and body skimming silhouettes, and just in general by the looks that felt most cohesive from head to toe. If I had to choose an ultimate favorite, it would be Emma Stone. Her dress cut and color were so unexpected and not the easiest to pull off, but she's Emma Stone, so she can pull anything off.

Style: Grammy Favorites.

Hello, everyone! Today I'm going to be sharing my Sam Smith Awards Grammy red carpet favorites with you guys! To be honest, the Grammy red carpet style gives me mixed feelings (not nearly as many as the Met Gala, but a fair amount). Since I tend to love the sleeker, monochrome looks, there are just some fashion choices that I cannot get behind.

That being said, there are some outfits that gave me the feels, and they will be discussed shortly. But first, the show (which I must admit I didn't get a chance to see until today).I actually skimmed through it rather than watching the entire thing, as the winners were already spoiled for me (thx, Facebook!).

I have many o'opinion about who should be winning these things, but the short and sweet version is: 

• Hozier killed performance. Y he no win song/record of the year?!?
• Kanye needs to pick up a dictionary cause I'm pretty sure the definition of artistry is Beck.
• John Legend and Common are glorious. 
• ....aaaaaand, none for Iggy Azalea. Bye.

Now that I got that out of my system, the nominees for best dressed (in array of color order) are...

Style: January End of the Month Haul.

Good evening, everybody! This year I'm trying to focus more on all of the communication platforms that are available to me, including the YouTube channel that I have been using sparingly in the past. For now, I just finished working on a haul video, but fear not- I have much more in store for the upcoming year. 

Other than monthly hauls, I will also be experimenting with lookbooks and tutorials, so if that sounds like something of interest, don't hesitate to subscribe.

As far as this video goes, it is the first time I've really talked in front of the camera, so I'm pretty awkward about it. I'm also disgustingly unfamiliar with video editing, so you get to see my first attempt at iMovie.

Let me know if you have any tips/tricks/requests/constructive criticisms regarding the video. I would love to learn more and experiment more with this medium.

As for the products- everything was purchased throughout the month of January, with money I earned working part time.

Style: SAG Awards Favorites.

For some reason, awards season is really tickling my fancy this time around, and not even only on the red carpet. One of my silly New Year's resolutions was to actually watch the ceremonies and be less clueless about celebrity life. (Because I may or may not be somewhat interested in celebrity PR as a future career. Don't judge. We're all friends here!). I had never seen the Screen Actors Guild awards before, so the viewing experience was something new for me. I thought the actor pride they showed was really humanizing- we tend to look at celebrities as superficial and puppet-like, but watching Uzo Aduba and Patricia Arquette become so emotional at the recognition of their hard work made them so relatable as humans. 

From a fashion perspective, the red carpet did not disappoint. Although I did not personally identify with their outfits, the cast of Orange is the New Black slayed in terms of risks and color/texture usage. And, let's be honest, they basically slayed the entire awards ceremony.

On my part, here are my favorite looks of the night (in no particular order), with a wee bit of commentary, as per usual!

Maria Menounos is just a clean and crisp Greek goddess and I love it. She always chooses to be simple on the red carpet, and it always works in her favor.

Felicity Jones is a wonderful human being and actress. If you haven't seen Like Crazy or Breathe In (both in which she is stunning and a bit insane), you better get on that. Her usual gown choices tend to be classical- a little on the elderly side, even. But this dress is classic and modern and ladylike and everything I would ever imagine Felicity to be in real life.

I'm too invested in monochrome looks to fully appreciate printed gowns on the red carpet, but Lupita Nyong'o always picks the most special, princess-worthy looks and accentuates them with impeccable hair and makeup choices. This one doesn't disappoint. 

Claire Danes is one of the most gorgeous people on this planet to me. I swear, this woman never shows signs of aging. Nope, she's still Juliet! She's also one of the people who always makes interesting fashion choices with surprise elements (THE BELT!!! AHH!!!). And that's not even the reason I'm absolutely in love with this look! Let's all just take a moment to appreciate Queen Claire and her ability to make her complexion/hair color absolutely GLOW through her color choices.

Sarah Hyland looked like a stunning princess. I loved this dress' mix of elegant and sexy and found it to be really on point for someone in her 20s. The deep cut of the dress is also very tastefully done, while still maintaining that sex appeal factor. That's a pretty important point, given the look of cleavage conscious dresses today (whaddup Jen's Globes!).

Lastly, I'm not even sure what Emma Stone is wearing, but she's Emma Stone and her look is just on point and unique every single time and I absolutely love it! The classic colors and red lips never fail me. Teach me your ways, Emma! 

AND HAI MATT MCGORRY YOU ARE A BEAUTIFUL MAN AND YOU'RE ON BOTH MY FAVORITE SHOWS AND YOU ARE THE ONLY CELEBRITY WHO I RELIGIOUSLY FOLLOW ON SOCIAL MEDIA BECAUSE YOU ARE GORGEOUS AND TALENTED AND PERFECT. HI!!!
