Aww man, I've been waiting for a long time to take this dress out for a spin. I purchased it at Charlotte Russe back in early spring but it's always taken the backseat whenever I chose my outfits. Wait no more, perfect summer dress! I finally value your existence! You know that sarcastic talk in The Devil Wears Prada about florals for spring being groundbreaking. Well, what about florals for summer?!? What do you have to say now, Meryl Streep Miranda Priestly? The red, white and blue combination doesn't hurt either- all super vibrant colors, but not pulling any patriotic vibes (saving that for the 4th of July).

Now let us talk about these booties. It was love at first sight when I saw them during my work hours and needless to say, they were immediately put on my hold! They've got the 90s grunge look DOWN and paired with the sweet dress, they balance it out perfectly. However, friends, let me show you the pain and suffering that you don't usually see in the personal style blogging world. It's all here- under these Band Aids. I wore these to work the day after I got them and on my lovely stroll down Melrose, it felt like my feet were on FIRE. Luckily I came prepared with comfy shoes and Band Aids, but as soon as I arrived to work I took these babies off to find my back heel covered in blisters that had already popped. Not a pretty sight for the faint of heart, but I'm slowly giving the booties more chances to redeem themselves. The second try (being the day I shot these photos) was a bit better, but we still have a ways to go. I love them too much to give up hope, so you'll be seeing them again as my break-in mission continues!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

I've worn this outfit twice, neither time being particularly long periods in which I got to show it off. The first time was a day after purchasing this dress for an errand that required me to just chill in the car. The second time was today, when I enjoyed some lovely flaxseed pizza crust at Pizza Studio- something I've been craving since arriving in LA mid-May.
Since starting my new job with Crossroads Trading Co., I've accumulated at least 10 new items because employee discount (or at least it's what I tell myself). That store is just such a breath of fresh air for me- I've been missing thrifting so much since going off to college and the fact that everything is handpicked to be in good condition and trendy is so lovely! This dress is something I probably wouldn't regularly pick up, but interacting with all the customers and experiencing their different styles has put me in an exploratory mood.
In other news, I'm still sick and my throat feels absolutely deadly. Tomorrow I'll be returning to work and dread every single moment when I have to open my mouth because ouch. Being sick in the summer is always so strange to me, but with some ibuprofen, soup and tea I'll hopefully be good to go pretty soon!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Currently I'm recovering from: a) 8 hr. shift at work; b) beginnings of my immune system decay sickness; and c) seeing the absolute scariest man on the metro on the way back home. But I am alive and well and medicated on tea and soon to be medicated on ramen, so at least some things are alright in the world, right?

On one of my recent days off, the boyfriend and I visited the Getty Center and it was absolutely beautiful. I remember the first time I visited- in 3rd grade- and I remember exactly what I was wearing (red stockings under jean capris, anyone? #ThanksMom). I would say this look, although simple, is a step up from those days.

This top is and forever will  be one of my favorites because of the color and style. I couldn't believe it when I finally found it on the sales rack after eyeing it for the longest time! Exciting stuff!

Oh my gosh, I've been trying to upload this look for the past couple of days and it's so exciting to finally get it up. I wore this for my first day of work at Crossroads Trading Co., my favorite thrift store in Los Angeles (and they have multiple locations in LA and beyond, so that's pretty nifty).

This amazing top is one of my favorites. I absolutely love a deep red- there's just something about it that makes me feel like I can take over the world.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Until next time :)
