A Girl and Her High Waisted Bikini.

Phew, it's been a long road guys, but here we are: the last batch of photos from Mexico. Since it's nearly August and the LA heatwave is in full swing, it was only appropriate to FINALLY put out a bikini look. I realize now I didn't get to document the bottoms in photo form, but if you're curious, have yourself a stalk on YouTube, where I put together a (pretty well-done, if I do say so myself) summer vacation lookbook.

A couple of years back, Forever 21 had an identity crisis where it was really feeling the warehouse discount store look, but I'm really happy to see them back up and putting out some pretty cute stuff. I might be a bit too old to be shopping there still, but let's be real - F21 and I will probably never break up. I'm just that person: the person who graduated college before she stopped reading Seventeen Magazine. #WHOOPS

Anyway, I leave you today with these au naturel beach day pride shots. And I say pride because, believe it or not, both the boyfriend and I were under a vicious virus attack during the making of these photos (and that entire YouTube lookbook, for that matter). I guess it's comforting to know that we clean up pretty nicely even when the behind-the-scenes reel includes antibiotics, loads of fever-filled cuddles, and the occasional puke sesh?

Thank you for being here :)

Now that important things (like graduating college) are out of the way, homegirl's got time for some blogging! So far, it's been challenging to get dressed while at home - I'm barely unpacking everything from school and all the stuff I previously left at home is still in boxes. I'm moving to Los Angeles a couple of weeks after the holidays, so I'm definitely going to be having a wardrobe purge sometime soon. Until then, creative dressing from boxes it is.

Today was errand day - shipped off my last textbooks and gave Anderson (my vehicle) a wash and vacuum. Lord knows he needed it. He's very popular with the birds at school (aka they all enjoy taking a dump on him).

I got inspired to pull out this sweater (which I've owned for forever but only wore like once - it really has to go) and pair it with the denim jacket after going through some old issues of People StyleWatch. There was this perfect street style photo of a lady wearing a cozy oversized turtleneck under a denim jacket and the results were prime. Obviously my version of the sweater is a bit underwhelming, but you gotta improv when you gotta improv. I'm just glad the sucker is getting its screen time!

Thank you so much for stopping by! It's good to be back.

The Story

Good morning, blog friends! It's been a while. What have you all been up to?

I've been drenched in the blood, sweat, and tears associated with the end of school and lacked time for any blogging activities. To be fair, it's mostly been a lack of photo opportunities- the reality is, sometimes I just choose to look hella cozy and get stuff done. No time for any cute outfits.

Traditionally, the week before finals has always been my downfall. It's the week of sweats and ratty tops and sporadic showers, only to lead into a seemingly put together finals week. You know, the old 'fake it till you make it' spiel.

Alas, Thanksgiving break was a small but welcomed treat, and between the turkey food baby and cold weather, I was able to get this look in. I spent my Thanksgiving in Santa Fe, mostly feasting and relaxing. While wearing this look, we strolled around Canyon Road and visited a surrealist art gallery. I brought a very underwhelming amount of garments for the occasion, but it was nice to reappropriate my summer crop top for the occasion- also a perfect day to wear my friend's old clothes!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Today's vibe is ready-to-sleep complete with under eye bags and 5 layers of blanket because it's too freaking cold. Therefore, in an effort to save myself and actually get a decent amount of sleep, there will be no story associated with this blog post. Let's have the multitude of pictures that I couldn't narrow down do all the talking. After all, this look is just too cool for words.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

The Story

Other than my jeans, most of the things I own are somewhat form fitting and have the ability to be dressed up. This awesome crop top breaks my wardrobe's mold, though. The moment I saw it in Crossroads, it completely stole my heart and ran many miles with it. I fought the purchase, but it honestly would have been one of those ones under the "Nothing haunts you as much as the purchases you didn't make" realm.

This outfit is so comfy and school appropriate, and I loved every second of wearing it. My friend did as well- she was the one that suggested we take pictures that day. It's just one of those looks that make me feel really effortlessly cool.

Thanks for stopping by!

The Story

Hey, friends! Forgive my inability to be coherent, but I'm way too tired. Here's a little candid moment in my life for ya- putting off everything until midnight the night before driving back to school, then further procrastinating by doing a blog post. Story of my life.

This is probably the only post of the summer where I'm not wearing an item I got at Crossroads and it's quite surprising, I was planning on doing a mega haul video with everything I purchased while working there, but for my sanity (and so I don't give my parents concrete evidence of how much stuff I purchased), I won't.

Shoutout to the earrings for making it on here two posts in a row. These were really an acquired taste for me. They seemed like a bit too much at first, but I can never resist a super deep hue. Also they remind me of a dress made out of Hallmark cards that I saw on Project Runway the other night. Anyone else know what I'm talking about?

Thank you so much for stopping by!
