The Story

Other than my jeans, most of the things I own are somewhat form fitting and have the ability to be dressed up. This awesome crop top breaks my wardrobe's mold, though. The moment I saw it in Crossroads, it completely stole my heart and ran many miles with it. I fought the purchase, but it honestly would have been one of those ones under the "Nothing haunts you as much as the purchases you didn't make" realm.

This outfit is so comfy and school appropriate, and I loved every second of wearing it. My friend did as well- she was the one that suggested we take pictures that day. It's just one of those looks that make me feel really effortlessly cool.

Thanks for stopping by!

The Story

To be honest, sometimes I struggle when picking out my outfit of the day. I struggle because every day I walk around campus and see girls that look the way I've always pictured college girls to look. Of course I can't truly know what goes on in their wardrobes (or lives), but in my mind they embody the ideal college lifestyle. These are the girls that I look at and think "Wow, she looks so pretty and put together" and the same girls that guys always do a double take on.

Some days I crave that lifestyle- that aura around me, but for some reason I always go back to my own version if it. I could describe it as half average college girl, half man repeller. This outfit feels exactly like that- there's going to be the lovers, and there's going to be the haters (most likely making up the majority).

I'm a relatively tame example of self-expression, and would never second guess myself in a big city where doing your own thing is encouraged and celebrated. But living in a relatively small town with a lack of focus on personal style can really get to me sometimes. I struggle to maintain my own vision of myself, but there are times when I just want to put on the same cute dress everyone else is wearing and go on with my day.

I guess there's some soul searching to be done.

So, it took me a while to warm up to my running shoes as a style staple, but here I am, I suppose. I wore this the other day when figuring out the bus route for my new summer job in LA- initially went with the sneakers for comfort reasons, but they ended up looking pretty snazzy so I suppose a quick snap was in order.

This is a bit of a baby blog post due to the lack of photos, but when I found this one on my camera, it just seemed like the perfect time to share!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Uh-oh! Tonight's outfit is a repeat offender, and I'm feeling absolutely shameless about it! First off, my first corset type top (from the lovely Tobi) quickly ascended to one of the top spots in my closet after my initial disappointment with realizing it was a crop top. But no matter! This beauty can be paired with so many of my cute high-waisted items and it even looks gorgeous under my see-through Zara dress.

I wore this look when I went to Vegas with my roommates for spring break, but didn't get a chance to take photos that time around. Luckily, the second time I wore this in Los Angeles (doesn't count as a repeat if you're wearing it in a different city with different people!) and my man was ready to capture it as we explored the Arts District!

Fun fact: Part of the mural behind me was a carton of milk holding two milk-filled breasts! Four for you, LA! You go, LA!

Thank you so much for stopping by, pretty people! I'll see you next time!

Good evening, everyone!

Doing my shopping at the mall during my time in school has taken its toll on me. It's been such a long time since I was able to fall in love with an item- an item that I can't find on every other person. Well, take it back to spring break about a month ago and my wish was Plato's Closet's command.

This gem of a top beckoned me from the moment I spotted it across the room. My mom really wasn't digging it (and many others may not as well), but it reminded me of the good ol' days when the thrift stores and garage sales were my second home and I wasn't afraid to get loud with my looks and take everything by trial and error.

Recently I've had multiple opportunities like this- just taking a step back from the mall (nothing against my bae, Charlotte Russe- sometimes a girl just needs something different) and losing myself in the beauty of thrifted items. And that feeling, my friends, is the absolute best!

You may not consider this look a hit. Actually, I'm not even sure if I love it or hate it. But sometimes, being a hot mess and embracing every second of it is the best thing you can do for yourself and your personal style journey!

Have a great evening!

Good evening, everyone! How goes it? I just woke up from an unexpected nap, complete with super attractive drooling (a.k.a. I got knocked out without even realizing it cause I had exams two days in a row and was a walking zombie by that point). Now I'm counting down the minutes (55 at press time) until the new Law & Order: SVU episode starts because my habits are really unhealthy, guys.

Today's look is simple and non-fussy and just ready for a long day of school and work. My mom used to do that half ponytail thing to my hair back in the day, and it was feeling very flat the other day, so I decided to go down nostalgia road and pretend I'm 5 again.

I've been meaning to mess around with those super cute socks since I bought them about a semester ago, but it just didn't feel right- until yesterday, that is. These LC Lauren Conrad booties have been worn so much lately on their own, they were just ready for a bit of an update, and Target happily delivered. Overall, I was just in a comfy and cozy state of mind so a comfy and cozy outfit was the way to go!

45 minutes until Law & Order: SVU! Have a beautiful evening, party people!

Hi, everybody! First of all, I would like to apologize for the photographic overload. I was really excited about experimenting with new poses and movements and colors for this new post and just couldn't narrow it down to the 3 or 4 pictures that I usually end up posting on the blog.

This outfit gets me SO excited! It's basically everything I stand for in terms of personal style- a little bit of thrifted, a little bit of gifted, a little bit of quirky non-chain store, and a little bit of #basic 'everyone shops here but I still love it'.

I feel like the entire look speaks for itself, but let me just have my sappy little happy girlfriend moment- I am just absolutely in love with this jewelry set that I got as a Christmas present from my multi-talented man. He's just the absolute best when it comes to making things, and I'm so glad I finally found a look that did the earrings and necklace set justice.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Hope you enjoyed reading this post as much as I enjoyed putting it together!
