I'm excited to finally getting around to posting these pictures! For as long as I can remember, I've been told that people view my style as colorful. You know when you're in a store and your friend gets something from the rack and just says 'this is SO you?' For me, people are always just grabbing the most colorful things they can get their hands on.

Though I personally believe I'm not there quite yet, it is where I hope to take my style at some point in time. One blogger whose style I hope to emulate is Wendy, who always manages to combine unexpected colors in a new, innovative way.

This top is by far the most tropically colorful thing I own, and it has waited way too long for a shot in my everyday life. I believe I bought it almost two years ago, maybe during one of those 5 for $20 deals that Wet Seal puts on every now and then. I originally purchased it with the intention of using it as a beach cover-up, but had I waited that long, I really wouldn't be getting my money's worth. I was also a bit intimidated by the silhouette, as it's not the most flattering on my curvy body type. By combining it with jeggings, the top proportionally hugs my frame rather than trapping me in it. As a basic rule, it's always a good idea to balance out silhouettes by contrasting them. Also, a large, flowy top calls for a bit of height in shoe choices, especially on shorter girls!

hat- Burlington Coat Factory
earrings- Icing by Claire's
jacket- Dolled Up
blouse- Talbots (thrifted)
necklace- unknown (taken from mother's closet)
bag- Ralph Lauren (thrifted)
pants- Farlow Jeans
boots- Jasmin (Ross Dress for Less)

To be honest, the first bit of feedback I received on this outfit was "It looks like you're pregnant." BUT, on the bright side, the unfortunate comment was made by my dad, so I didn't feel as bad about it- he's not necessarily the most style-oriented guy.

Sure, the blouse is a bit loose, but the breezy, comfy look is one of my go-to's for those days when there's social commitments, but no desire to go out in the world. It's comfortable, looks put together, and doesn't require much effort. The outfit itself is plain and relies on color scheme for cohesiveness, but the accessories give it a pop. I'm normally not an advocate for big on big jewelry, but the chunky necklace and massive earrings didn't interfere with each other's beauty. The hat is one of my prized possessions. I love the camo flower accent!

Thank you so much for stopping by! :)

Outfit: Fringed Cardi + Skinny Jeggings.

Throughout the years, I feel like I've always purchased safe statement pieces. I'm not exactly sure how to put that in words. I guess you could say I've purchased stuff that my mom would approve of and not find to be an unreasonable purchase. With this particular cardigan, I can almost imagine her nagging.

"That thing will get caught in everything!" (it does)
"You can probably use that for like two normal outfits!" (challenge accepted)
"The washing machine will kill it." (I love it so much that it'll get special hand wash treatment)

Even so, I've decided that I'm going to love this piece forever and ever and try my best to incorporate it into as many outfits as possible. Every now and then, my school has an outdoor market of sorts, where vendors set up tents on campus. I purchased this beauty for $10 from one of my favorite tents, which contained pretty unique, cheap apparel. I've noticed similar prints around lately, but the fringes were something new, which attracted me to the product.

I absolutely love its thin composition, yet cozy feel. I'm not a huge fan of bulky clothing, which is part of the reason I strongly dislike wintertime, but the more thin, yet wearable during cold weather clothing I find, the more I warm up to months like November.

I can't believe we're a week away from the start of December, and a bit over a month away from the New Year! I also can't believe that in about 3 weeks, I will be done with my first semester as a college sophomore, and, most importantly, I will return home to all my beloved clothing items that didn't make the cut to California. That's probably the only positive to going back home, but I'll take it :)

Thank you so much for stopping by and reading my random rambles!

I truly appreciate it! :)
