The Story

If I was a celebrity, this would be one of those outfits that would get me body shamed like none other. I hope this is an exaggeration and I'm overestimating how awful people can be, but I don't think I am. Luckily, I'm just another college girl on the interwebz, so here's to being anonymous enough that nobody cares. 
But let's talk about this look, because I've never worn anything like this. Crop tops have always been my number one, but they've always been complimented by a high-waisted bottom. I'm not sure if it was my boyfriend's presence (finally got to see him this weekend after 2 months), the summer weather and fall landscape that have been plaguing the area, or the simple need for a change, but this look felt refreshing. It made me feel inspired, happy and confident. 
...also made me get pumped about blogging again. Sorry about that, by the way! It's just been really difficult to find someone willing and able to take my photos, and I'd rather have a few qualitative looks than a bunch of pictures I take in my dorm room.

The Story

I've recently discovered a strong fondness of jumpsuits (up until I have to use the restroom, of course), and when Juliana of Vegas.com contacted me with the challenge of coming up with an #UltimateVegasOutfit, I immediately knew where my loyalties stood.

Although my favorite hotel is the Flamingo (so kitsch. so pink.), I could see this outfit prancing around Monte Carlo or Caesar's Palace. I especially love how this one article of clothing covers all bases- it's hot during the day? No worries, your outfit is sleeveless and hangs decently loose. Shopping around all day? Throw on some comfy sandals and you're set- it's also hella easy to take off and try on things. And ready for that party tonight? Substitute the bag + shoes and voila. 

Vegas is a lovely, fun place, so why not enjoy it in a versatile and subtly sexy piece? Plus, in a sea of sequins and skin-tight dresses, you'll be sure to stand out while being comfortable enough to dance the night away.

Friends! Romans! Countrymen! 

Marvelous news! I am alive and sane (more or less) and still very much enjoy plastering my face and outfits on the interwebz! It's been a long few weeks without outfit documentation, but I'm coming back strong.

And by strong I mean I'm wearing the outfit I very unfortunately wore when my boss decided to send me to a lecture filled with members of the 50+ crowd (and to my delight, the president of the university) so I could snap some pictures for our social media.

While I'm one to usually stand by my fashion choices (and I feel my look so much that I'd probably crop my kid out of the picture and post it on social media), even I have to admit that it was far from being a good moment for me. My favorite part was having to leave in the middle of the lecture and hustle to class- an extra 30 seconds of all eyes on me- great stuff!

Going past that- it's good to be back, and I'm still absolutely in love with this outfit- no matter what my higher-up friends in the university administration care to think.

I figured an El Paso day date with my favorite guy would be the prime time for that.  This crop top is one of my prized possessions- I saw it in Seventeen magazine (before I finally took the leap and cancelled my subscription- cause really, I'm way too old to be reading about teenage issues). Anyway, I went to the store, magazine in hand, and was beyond ecstatic to find that they didn't only have the top, but they had it in my favorite pile (hint: the one that starts with S and ends with E).  This outfit has me reminiscing about the time I would spend hours stalking everything Annasophia Robb wore on The Carrie Diaries. Is anyone else bitter that show got cancelled? Over a year later and I still can't get over it. I guess all that's left to do is draw inspiration from the past.  That's all I have for tonight, guys! I've probably went on a mini Plato's Closet rant on different occasions, but I need to reiterate: 'tis the place to shop at.  Another awesome place to shop at? Old Navy. Especially for jeans. Let's just take a moment to love on the perfect boyfriend jeans, that basically feel like PJ's but look put together enough that you wouldn't get judged for wearing them to Walmart, or anywhere else for that matter. Along with the boyfriends, the Rockstar skinny jeans are worth looking into- my favorite affordable jeans ever!
