Hello, beautiful people!

I haven't posted in a few days and it already feels like it's been an eternity. I'm really trying to get my schedule in check, but between preparing for back-to-school and back to back Law&Order:SVU/Criminal Minds episodes, I just can't get around to it! (Sorry. Both are pretty illegitimate excuses!)

Anyway, I'm back at it, and with college part III coming up (moving back for my junior year on Sunday), I will be much more organized about everything! I just started an editorial calendar and will be posting every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. Get pumped, people!

I don't have a whole lot to say about the outfit- just something casual and comfy I wore out shopping at Walmart. Yes, yes, I know the level of glamour in Walmart shopping trips is in the negatives, but I really want to be honest with you guys in my blogging- if I didn't actually wear it, I didn't blog it. People don't just need to get dressed for work, dates, and dinners. They dress for school, errands, and just simple, boring everyday life! And, along with all the social gethering/night out/special occasion outfits, I'm here to share all the mundane event outfits, too!

Thanks for stopping by, even on my least glamorous days! :)

Hello, friends!

I haven't been really proactive in my outfit picture-taking quest, as most of my wardrobe is in Texas now and all I'm left with is a carry-on. But, not to worry! Soon enough I will be in possession of some pretty beachy outfit pictures and, of course, I will be sharing. By soon enough, I mean in like two weeks.

I just realized how long that sounds! Since summer started, I've been good about posting three times a week, and have enjoyed every second of that, but in one day, I'll be off to do some beach bumming and internet ignoring in Mexico with my boyfriend and his family. I apologize in advance for the lack of posts, but I'll be returning full force on the 2nd of July.

Now, about this outfit- first of all, $2 cardigan alert!!! This baby was purchased by my mom at JC Penney's for next to nothing about a month ago, and naturally, I had to steal. How adorable is the color block on it?!? Secondly, this outfit was shot a while ago, but I just found it going through my camera and it made me super happy! The feather earrings and cardi is one of my favorite combinations and I'm glad to be able to share it on here.

Thanks for stopping by, and see you in a couple of weeks!

Outfit: Vintage Denim Jacket and Jeggings.

Ever since I purchased this denim jacket at my local thrift store, I knew that it would eventually have its moment- it was just a matter of when. At least two years have passed since it's been laying around in my closet, constantly avoided in favor of newly bought girly silhouette coats and blazers. This winter, however, it's been one of my go-to's. I love its effortlessly 90's vibe and the vintage edge it brings to my style.

Lately I've been trying to pinpoint what my outfit choices are becoming, and I've come to the conclusion that my style is leaning towards girly with a dash of edge. I'm always into pink, and purple, and brights in general, but I enjoy accessorizing with studs, massive hats, and 90's denim. That being said, I have been toying with the idea of changing the name of my blog to something that better represents my niche. So, pretty soon, I believe you'll have a revamped blog going by the name of "Curvy with a Dash of Edge". I will explain my choice later on in the week, as I decide whether I truly want to change the blog's name. Until then, however, I leave you with this comfy, casual, girly-edgy outfit.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

As a PERSONAL style advocate and blogger, I tend to march to my own beat and wear things because I feel that they match my personality and body type rather than because they are trendy. I do, of course, try to incorporate fashion-forward items into my daily outfits, but there are some that I just cannot wrap my head around. For example, houndstooth is one of those prints that just doesn't do it for me. I've seen a lot of style bloggers work their magic on it and make it look good, but I have no intention of letting it grace my body anytime soon.

Animal print is one of those trends that to me is almost on the same level as houndstooth. I don't own that many animal print pieces, mostly because I find them too busy to integrate properly in most of the looks that I try to achieve. This coat is one of the very few animal prints I own, and definitely the most eccentric. I'm not sure why I decided it was a good purchase- maybe the coziness and softness, or maybe the fact that it feels luxe rather than kitsch. It's one of those items that I would expect myself to absolutely hate, but in reality I'm really into.

Maybe I'm not bold enough to try everything that the fashion world deems worthy... or maybe I'm just trying to remain faithful to myself in a world where it seems that everyone wears the same uniform. The Valentino studded heels (I'm guilty of that, just the cheap Rue 21 version), the Zara skort, the Celine bags, they all reappear time and time again. Maybe if I could afford that stuff, I would be wearing all of that, too. But for now, I just enjoy being budget-friendly, and hopefully even a bit different from the standard.

I'm never going to be a main risk taker, and I'm comfortable with that. To me, clothing is about properly representing myself and channeling my daily moods. And I hope that it is exactly what I come across as doing.

Thank you so much for stopping by :)
