I remember buying this sweatshirt many many (at least 4) years ago, and my mom saying that I'm never actually going to wear it. For a while I suppose I didn't...and then came college. Honestly, joke's on her, cause this sweatshirt has gotten its money's worth and then some. I got it on super sale for less than $10 and it's been the most practical and comfy purchase ever. It might actually be the most worn piece in my closet!

I'm absolutely loving this layered outfit, perfect for early winter time. I especially approve of the fact that it's not bulky- I hate winter clothing, especially the bulky kind.

I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving break- I know I did. Mine was filled with great food, plenty of cuddles, and, of course, some blog post preparation! A huge shoutout goes to my lovely boyfriend for always supporting my love for this blog and taking the time to document my outfits. I'm excited to finally have a lot of new outfit posts to share with you all :)

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Vibrant Winter.

When I was turning 16, I had an insane pink phase. My Sweet 16 birthday party was filled with pink napkins, plates, clothes, and presents. Since that's my most vivid memory from the teenage years, pink has always been a color that I associated with my childhood.

In an effort to adopt a more grown-up look, I've steered away from that color scheme. I'm purchasing more neutrals and reds these days. But the truth is, pink has always been- and will continue to remain- who I am. Yes, it's the stereotypical ultimate girl color, and it probably invites people to not take me seriously, but with a look that goes beyond the head-to-toe bubble gum vomit that I used to favor back in the day, I'm hoping I can still show my brights some love without being automatically linked to Barbie in people's heads.

I suppose trying to pass off leggings as pants doesn't particularly help my cause, but these are just the comfiest things I own- AND they're thick enough to not show unwanted skin. The dark bottom balances out all of the pink and purple sunshine radiating from my upper body, making the outfit more mature rather than lazy college girl status (which is definitely how I was feeling at the time).

All in all, however much I try to escape, I think pink is here to stay in my life/wardrobe, so I should probably just accept my fate.

Northern New Mexico isn't the most pleasant weather-wise during this time of the year. At least, not for a summer lover such as myself. A few days ago, though, the weather was perfect- cold enough to know that it's winter, but warm enough that I wasn't absolutely repulsed by the idea of heading outside.

I've been waiting for the opportunity to wear this soft sweater which I got on sale at Pacsun for a few weeks. I only got it because it was buy one, get one free on tops and I was obsessed with the other top that I purchased, so might as well get my free gift, right? I'm beyond happy with my choice, though.

It's one of those sweaters that's layer friendly for winter, but can hold its ground during warmer temperatures- such a versatile piece! I can't wait to pair it up with something extremely colorful for a fun contrast!

Thank you for stopping by, and happy New Year! :)

As a PERSONAL style advocate and blogger, I tend to march to my own beat and wear things because I feel that they match my personality and body type rather than because they are trendy. I do, of course, try to incorporate fashion-forward items into my daily outfits, but there are some that I just cannot wrap my head around. For example, houndstooth is one of those prints that just doesn't do it for me. I've seen a lot of style bloggers work their magic on it and make it look good, but I have no intention of letting it grace my body anytime soon.

Animal print is one of those trends that to me is almost on the same level as houndstooth. I don't own that many animal print pieces, mostly because I find them too busy to integrate properly in most of the looks that I try to achieve. This coat is one of the very few animal prints I own, and definitely the most eccentric. I'm not sure why I decided it was a good purchase- maybe the coziness and softness, or maybe the fact that it feels luxe rather than kitsch. It's one of those items that I would expect myself to absolutely hate, but in reality I'm really into.

Maybe I'm not bold enough to try everything that the fashion world deems worthy... or maybe I'm just trying to remain faithful to myself in a world where it seems that everyone wears the same uniform. The Valentino studded heels (I'm guilty of that, just the cheap Rue 21 version), the Zara skort, the Celine bags, they all reappear time and time again. Maybe if I could afford that stuff, I would be wearing all of that, too. But for now, I just enjoy being budget-friendly, and hopefully even a bit different from the standard.

I'm never going to be a main risk taker, and I'm comfortable with that. To me, clothing is about properly representing myself and channeling my daily moods. And I hope that it is exactly what I come across as doing.
