For some reason, I feel like I'm taking a while to convince myself to explore Los Angeles. My personality is very calculated - I really need to build up to things and make sure I'm 100% ready to venture into them, which weirdly enough goes for my social life as well.

Hence my current relationship with LA - although at this point I'm going into my 3rd month of being here (!!!), there's still so much left for me to discover. I took the first couple of months very slowly- settled into my living situation and my job, got used to the traffic and general feel of being in the big city. But that all left me exhausted and lacking the energy I needed for other things. Being here now, it's too easy to take everything around me for granted and assume that there's all the time in the world to experience the city.

However, the harsh reality is this: you come about youth once in your lifetime, and this life is too short to wait everything out until you're perfectly comfortable. A little chaos never killed nobody, so last night was used as a celebration of youth. I decided (or rather, my boyfriend tempted me by taking on the bar tab) to be a normal 20-something and go out on the town on a Thursday night. And even though today was a workday and even though last night there were dirty dishes in the sink and even though I should've finished my taxes instead, I spent the night enveloped in the happiest feelings in DTLA with my favorite human.

Alright, y'all probably think I'm a bit crazy and overdramatic, but this was really a big event. I can count on one hand the amount of times I've dressed up and gone somewhere outside of work in the past month, so it's just a perfect little feeling! Also any excuse to wear my aunt's vintage gem of a skirt is fine by me!
Thanks so much for stopping by, and have an exciting little weekend!

The Story

Hi, friends! I'm coming live from day three of being off work and it's been awesome and relaxing and everything good in the world. These pictures, however, have nothing to do with that. These babies are long overdue from a beautiful date day spent at Echo Park, pedal boats and all. We soaked up the sun, shared an organic muffin and got some really sweet tan lines. And of course, along the way, had time for some quick photos to share!

This top was one of my first summer purchases after getting employed and I've just been dying to bust it out. It's a bit risque for those of us not used to freeing the nipple, but slap some pasties on and make sure your day won't involve running of any sort and you're golden.
The grass is definitely greener in no bra land. And just check out how sweet this top matches with the comfiest pants ever!
Thank you so much for stopping by!

The Story

Around the beginning of high school, I bought this deep red hoodie with some Michael Jackson-esque shoulder details (see here). My mother swore that I would never wear it, but oh how wrong she was! Because you see, I have a fatal attraction to tacky sweaters- particularly, the ones that go just a wee bit over the top in shoulder detailing.

Enter this gem of a cardi that I found during work at Crossroads Trading Co. I stole so many glances until I finally gave in and purchased it, and I haven't looked back. There are very few things in life that bring me as much joy as tacky rhinestones on a chunky cardigan. What are some of your weird fashion obsessions?

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Though I still have a long 3 day ways to go, my mind is already set on spring break. This past weekend has been long, lazy, and beautiful, so having to return back to the reality of school is just not very fun. Since my boyfriend/photographer is on spring break, he came to visit me for a few days, and we've just dedicated his entire visit to relaxing and cuddling. For the most part, we watched Law and Order: SVU and Pinky and the Brain. If you've never watched Pinky and the Brain, or watched it when you were really young, you need to Amazon Prime it right now. The one-liners and references are pure gold. On Sunday we went to Riverbend Hot Springs, in Truth or Consequences and rented out a private spring for an hour. It was the most relaxing experience! Such a great value! Other than that, we pigged out on Nutella. Nothing new there.

Since the weather was nice, I was able to bust out my more summery attire. At the top of my 'to wear' list is this adorable number purchased from a former online boutique called Hello Glam. Sadly, it closed down in 2013, but to my knowledge, their merchandise was brought in from the LA Fashion District.  I'm a huge fan of this dress' color palette (neon color-block, but not tiring to the eye), length (school and work appropriate, but still something I would wear on a date), and basic bow detail (the punch in an otherwise simple dress). Lately, I've been enjoying stocking up on basic pieces with a twist, so this dress has perfectly fit in with my new hobby.

Happy spring, everybody! Thank you for stopping by!

Just a quick outfit post of yesterday's warm winter weather outfit!

I enjoyed the fact that I didn't need to bundle up completely, and at some points throughout the day it was even too hot to wear the jacket.

It's looking a bit like spring, and I'm loving every single minute of it!

I'm not quite ready to bring out the light sweaters yet, though their time is quickly approaching. Today I wore my Zara maxi dress, and I was freezing the entire time! I'm probably sick by now, but who cares? I figured I'd wait until October 1st to bring out all my fall apparel, and just celebrate the end of September! You should do the same. Enjoy those bare arms, legs and backs for a bit longer!

Thank you for stopping by!
